As your son, I took great pride in growing up with such a wonderful example of a matriarch; a pace setter, a way maker, and a beacon of hope, light, and love. Can this world ever be the same without you? Can my life ever be the same without you, Maa? Even now, I miss your voice dearly; I miss your laughter, and even your rebukes. Everything about who you were is everything I needed to become who I am today, and I am grateful. Living without you is a great ask, Maa, but I know your wish is that we carry on what you have done and who you were to others. Your virtue shall continue to flow through us and in us, that we may also impact this world as much as you did. A famous saying goes, “Brighten the corner where you are.” Mother, I know even now, Heaven is a much happier place because you are there, sitting among the saints, rejoicing with He who rose and conquered death, sin, and the grave. If I could speak about the depth of love you had for me and who you mean to me, these pages would certainly not be enough, and this event would go on for the next 100 hours. But today, I join all these wonderful people who have gathered here to say, “Thank you, rest well, and you are missed dearly, more than you know.” I love you, Maa. I always have, and always will, till the end of time and beyond. Your Son, Stefano Everything about who you were is everything I needed to become who I am today, and I am grateful.
