Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall returnuntoGodwho gave it (Ecclesiastes 12:7). Today, members of the 8th Council of State gather to pay tribute to our beloved colleague, Hon. Counsellor Eunice Jacqueline Buah Asomah-Hinneh, whose warmth, kindness, friendship, and insightful counsel touched our lives profoundly. Hon. Counsellor Eunice Jacqueline Buah Asomah-Hinneh served as the Western Regional representative on the Council of State, completing two consecutive terms, from 2017 to 2021 on the 7th Council and until her sudden demise on the 8th Council. Many of us first met Hon. Counsellor Eunice on February 27, 2017, at the swearing-in of the 7th Council of State. Her zest for life, warm personality, and cordiality quickly became evident, deepening into cherished friendships. Hon. Counsellor Eunice’s remarkable qualities earned her affectionate nicknames: “Eunice” or “Auntie Eunice” among Council members and staff. In the 7th Council, Hon. Counsellor Eunice actively contributed to the Economic and Social Development Initiatives Committee (ESDIC), sharing her rich business experience. In the 8th Council, she served on the Legal, Constitutional Affairs and Petitions Committee (LCAP), consistently enriching plenary meetings with her insights. During the Council’s 2021 Western Region outreach, we admired the beautiful Nzema Maanle Complex, built by Auntie Eunice for the Nzema Traditional area. We held meetings within the Complex, hosted by Hon. Counsellor Eunice. Hon. Counsellor Eunice passionately advocated for Nzema’s progress, unity, and development, demonstrating exceptional statesmanship. We remember Hon. Counsellor Eunice as an outstanding personality, respected for her selflessness, kindness, gentleness, knowledge, and profound insights. Her sudden departure leaves an irreparable void. We bid farewell to a dedicated colleague and sister, Hon. Counsellor Eunice Jacqueline Buah Asomah-Hinneh. As the Prophet Isaiah says: “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD” (Isaiah 55:8). We salute your tireless efforts, commitment, and dedication to Ghana. Your legacy will endure in our hearts and the Council’s work. As we bid you farewell, dear sister Eunice, we pray for your kind and gentle soul to rest in perfect peace. Rest well, Hon. Counsellor Eunice Jacqueline Buah AsomahHinneh. Council of State g Tribute Eternally Cherished 58 Hon. Dcns. Mrs. Eunice Jacqueline Buah Asomah-Hinneh
