Eunice Jacqueline Buah Asomah-Hinneh: A Visionary Business Partner I first met Eunice in 2008 through her brother, Isaac Buah, while working at a trading company. At the time, my employer was hesitant to venture into international markets, limiting our growth. However, when I started my own business, Eunice was the first person I turned to, and my faith in her was unwavering. Eunice embodied remarkable strength, dedication, and a keen business sense, inspiring confidence in me. Her ambition was contagious, and she sought a partner who recognized her potential and shared her vision. In 2009, we began our partnership, driven by a shared motto: “We grow together.” Initially, Eunice worked solo, importing containers without her own cold storage facility. She shared her bold vision with me: establishing a large cold storage facility in the Fishing Harbour and importing fish from Mauritania. Despite limited resources – she was solo, and I had just started my business – our mutual trust made the impossible possible. Our partnership flourished, and I helped EuniceestablishHomeandAway, herfirst cold storage facility, within a year. The business grew rapidly, sometimes overwhelming us, but laying a solid foundation for expansion. Eunice and I complemented each other, despite our differences. We spent hours discussing various topics, from business to life. She was a visionary, focused on the big picture, while I handled the details. In 2016, Eunice’s dream materialized. With Dutch financing, we built a pioneering solarpowered cold storage facility in the Fishing Harbour, Ghana’s largest solar initiative at the time. We also began importing fish from Mauritania, fulfilling her long-held ambition. That same year, Eunice ventured into politics, realizing her aspiration to become an influential leader. Her talent and ambition were finally recognized, though it’s heartbreaking that she didn’t have more time to enjoy this success. Eunice was instrumental in my business growth, standing by me from the beginning. Her unwavering support and partnership will be deeply missed.
