Dr. Mary Yaaba Meah C O U S I N g Tribute “Mummy,” as I called you, you were so much more than just a cousin to me—you were one of my biggest supporters and a source of strength. Your generosity touched my life in ways I can hardly express. From the moment you found out that my dream was to become a doctor, you stood by my side, encouraging me throughout the journey. You supported me financially after medical school and offered emotional and spiritual encouragement. Whenever I felt overwhelmed, your constant prayers and words of wisdom were a comfort I could always rely on. One of my fondest memories is when you gave me the nickname “Clipper.” That was a special joke between me, Mama Grace, Sister Ruby, and Daddy Buah (of blessed memory). You always had a unique way of making everyone feel cherished. That nickname stayed with me through the years, a constant reminder of our close bond. More recently, when I finally achieved my dream of becoming a doctor, you were one of the first to celebrate me. You proudly insisted that everyone call me “Dr. Yaaba,” making sure I knew just how proud you were of my accomplishments. Your joy for me was so genuine—it was as if you had achieved that milestone yourself. You didn’t just help me; you celebrated every milestone in my life as if it were your own. You were instrumental in helping me secure my first job, using your network to open doors when I felt uncertain about my future. And just when I thought your generosity had no limits, you surprised me with a car, once again showing that your love knew no bounds. Mummy, your absence leaves a deep void, but your impact on my life will remain forever. I amthewoman I amtoday because of your love, support, and prayers. I will miss your warmth, your wisdom, and your unwavering presence in my life. You will always hold a special place in my heart. Rest well, dearest cousin. You are deeply loved and will be dearly missed, dearest “Mummy.” Love always, Your Doctor Yaaba
